Work Package 5: Student learning before and post-pandemic, effects of school finances, spending and distance learning
Work package 5 aims to identify the learning loss caused by the pandemic and to develop tools for preventing it. The work package explores the effects of the pandemic on learning outcomes in basic education and general upper secondary education, as well as the development of learning outcomes, education funding and costs before and post-pandemic. The impact on learning outcomes is examined through international reference data (PISA and PIRLS). Datasets of Functional Numeracy Assessments for 3-9th graders (FUNA) are also used, as well as the matriculation exam results. The development of financial resources for education is examined by means of register data. Based on the results, the new generation digital training platform ViLLE will be used to detect, catch up and prevent learning loss.
